|"Chief Yahoo" Jerry Yang is still with the company but informally , he founded
evidently trying to help revive the business, but Yahoo's best days may
well be long behind it. While the website still ranks in the top five
for United States internet traffic, but investors have grown impatient.
The company laid off 600 workers in December 2010, and its CEO Carol
Bartz in early September 2011. Yang, who moved
to the US from Taiwan at age 10 and currently lives in Los Altos, CA,
created Yahoo in 1994 with fellow Stanford Ph.D. student (and now fellow
billionaire) David Filo. Yang is now a trustee at Stanford, where he
donated $75 million in 2007.
